Before you take anything apart
Switch the printer off and unplug it at the wall unless a step specifically says to work with it warm or running, and let hot parts cool before you touch them. Never open the power supply or the mains side of the machine — that is a job for us or for a qualified electrician. If a step does not look right for your machine, or you are not confident, stop and ask rather than guess.
Opening a printer can affect its warranty. If yours is still in cover, check with the manufacturer or your retailer first — and if you bought it from us, just ask.
This advice comes from our own workshop and is given in good faith, but every machine and every situation is different, so you follow it at your own risk. If in doubt,
bring it to us.
